my new motto:

"Live simply, Give more, Expect less"

~Sister Mace

This is an email I received at work today:

Kendra-

You are so AWSOME!. Yes , we did check Dylan's grade and are very happy that he did so well. I can't thank you enough for you time and patience with us. People like you are very special. Have a wonderful weekend!

Glenda

{love her punctuation mistakes!}

Isn't that the best?! It's people like this that make it easier to love an serve others. I can love them as Christ does and see the end clearer with God's perspective. We need other people to get through this life. Don't take them for granted.

People are worth it. Life is worth it.

i am going to keep quite about it

I am constantly inspired by the people around me. I could name the many dear people in my life who have helped me in countless ways. They inspire me to be a better person. They amaze me with how they go about conducting their lives, how they manage to get so much done and they do it so well, and how they still find time to do the little things that matter the most. I see their countenances. I see their righteous desires. I see myself wanting to be more like them.

How is it possible that I can have so much love for them?!

So . . . I have so many other thoughts that are on my mind, but alas, no time to write about them.

love for some lovers

Lately I have just been in a valentine-y mood {even though I have no valentine. haha!}. Maybe it's because all the blogs I stalk have been posting valentine-themed things or it could be because so many people I know seen to be in relationships, etc. Well I think that Valentine's day isn't just for lovers, but for all kinds of lovers!! So why not celebrate! {wait a second, that sounds awfully close to something Shawnne said last year, hmmmm}.

So this valentines day {and all the ones to come} I will spend with the ones I love.
These are my lovers {I must be in a copying mood because I sort of stole this picture idea from Claire. heh}:

I hope you all know that there is a lot of hard core love coming at you all right now.

Also, I love this idea! So cute, so personal, so delicious!

and one more thing. It's been one year!!! Check out this post. I couldn't have said it better, sis.

Baby it's cold outside!

Now that it is colder and it has snowed, I can post this (FINALLY!). I've been waiting far too long.
The perfect winter date:

bundle up (mittens, scarves, hats, etc.)
build snow men
make snow angels
throw snow balls, etc.

then . . .

have an adventure!
discover new cafes, chocolate shops, candy shops, restaurants, etc.
taste test different hot chocolates and caramel apple ciders
be simple, be fun, be creative
of course, all while cuddling up next to your sweetie ;)

Ce sera parfait!

Only problem? I just need to find a date . . . :[] one minor detail.

love is more than just holding hands

Ferris wheel.

I am scared of heights {yes I get scared at the top of Ferris wheels}.
But someday my *box husband will protect me.

*Disclaimer: I am not implying that I will have a box husband. I just couldn't think of a better word to use. ;)

Once upon a time . . .

I about died when I found this!! It's a little embarrassing when a precious little child can speak a language better than you can, but of course I forgive her because she is so cute! This story is top quality and seriously can her eyelashes be any more gorgeous?!

deux est un nombre magique

oui, c'est ça.

je ne peux pas attendre le jour
quand je peux dire: "bonjour, encore."
nous jouons tout les jours!

juste nous deux . . .

I love fall!

It's official.

Despite getting over a cold, Today while walking home I could smell the wonders of fall! Oh lovely!

Crisp leaves (which are my favorite to crunch!). Vibrant colors: orange, yellow, brown, red. Wearing layers and light sweaters (it's not too cold yet!) Just the rustic, earthy smell and feel of it all is so fantastic!

love!

procrastination

I just spent WAY too much time blog stalking. Oh gee. Sorry homework, you just aren't as important.

I am now coveting the life of someone else . . .

Totally unrelated, but I like this sweet little gate I found in my neighborhood back at home!

le bonheur

Happiness. I want that. The type of happiness that you felt when you were a kid on a carefree summer day and you hear the ice cream man's cheerful little tune coming down the street and you can't wait to get your hands on some chocolaty goodness or flavorful popsicle! The type of happiness you get when you've had a "blah" kind of day and a friend makes you feel better just by saying "I love you." Looking at pictures of good recipes and food like my cheesecake recipe book ;) (even though I don't have the time or the means to cook/bake them it is still worth it). Or the feelings you get while reading a good book like Le Petit Prince by Antoine de Saint Exupéry (so amazing!) or from Happiness is a Warm Puppy by Charles Schultz. Peanuts is seriously one of my favorites. It epitomizes happiness to me. Every time I read his book or one of the comic strips, or even watch one of the movies I feel all warm and fuzzy inside (yes I just said that, but I can't think of anything else to describe it). Peanuts is so perfect because it's so simple, and yet those are the things that bring happiness to me: family, friends, a warm puppy (a.k.a. charlie!) There are so many forms of happiness, but imagine it lasting for ETERNITY! That's almost indescribable! I get little glimpses of eternal happiness every once in a while, but it lasts only for a few minutes or seconds even. Lately it's been happening more frequently, which is good because it keeps me on track, it motivates me to try harder and improve the areas that need improving in my life. It makes me long for, in eager anticipation, for the times in my future when I can partake of this happiness longer than a few seconds and for, well . . . eternity! So right now that's my goal. Pretty lofty goal, huh?

The darker the chocolate, the sweeter the juice (ha!)

This week went by very fast. Crazy! Anyway, yesterday was a great day. I studied, went to school--which isn't that great--studied some more and then hung out with Kaylie, Katie, Vai and the crew . . . the LDS motion picture crew! Haha! But seriously. (They make movies like The Joseph Smith Movie and they gave Katie and me some candy from the sweet stash!) Here is some proof, but not of the candy:

Katie made a touchdown!

We actually got to STAND on the field!!

After they were done filming Vai, we all went to dinner, which was so great because we were starving!! After dinner the most obvious thing to do is order dessert, right? But dumb Fridays had a random recall on brownies?! Who ever heard of a recall on brownies? Anyway, we somehow chose P.F. Changs for dessert. And yes, we ordered ALL the options!! These next few pictures are to make you jealous.
Cheesecake:

The sampler. S'mores, shorcake, carrot cake, chocolate cake, and tiramisu, to name a few:

Some banana roll thing with amazing pineapple coconut ice cream.

The great wall of Chocolate cake!!

My personal fav. Flourless chocolate dome, it came warm and rich! (just like flourless chocolate cake that my mom and grandma make!)

Here we all are. Isn't it nice to reminisce about the evening before?

I could barely walk after eating so much food. Back home my comfortable sweat pants were calling me, waiting to be worn. But it's nice to have a fat day once in a while, right?
