in exactly one month . . .

i will celebrate my birth.

i will meet that boy; the one we've heard so much about these past 2 years, but is still a stranger.

i will only have 15 more days of wait until i can see that girls face again.

there will be approx 18 more days until you can call me 'auntie.'

in these past few days . . .

i have been working on my list. the list.

i found the joy of a package from australia and the smell of vinage.

i came home to a lovely surprise taped to my door from best friends.

i was tempted to feed the ducks {but only after one attacked my foot}.

i laughed. hard. with people that i love.

my day was made when i was told by a sweet little efy girl that i have beautiful hair.

i caught whifs of former memories as the wind blew in my face.

i felt the words about to burst from me, but not being able to express them.

in this precise moment . . .

i am aching for an adventure and a long drive

i am resolving to seek for the divine in everything and everyone

i wonder how i will recognize it when it comes

i am loving this quote:

"to see the way mankind loves, you could search the furthest reaches of the universe and never find anything more beautiful"~stardust

i can't get out

My body wakes out of habit
I rise out of bed, simply duty
{to whom? myself probably}
and then life takes hold.

My movements are purposeful and deliberate,
but strained as well.
Just another day.
I think to myslef,
"life seems nothing more than a quick succession of busy nothings"
I am about done.

Here I am again
by the pond and side of the road.
The ducks come near for a treat.
I selfishly unoblige {and make up words}.
Sitting in the silence of my thoughts,
but in the tumult of reality.
I dream in
shades of mint & love blossom.

for tomorrow?
repeat.
repeat.

How much longer?
Dare I ask?
He warmly reasures, *the hour is not yet, but is nigh at hand.

my new motto:

"Live simply, Give more, Expect less"

~Sister Mace

This is an email I received at work today:

Kendra-

You are so AWSOME!. Yes , we did check Dylan's grade and are very happy that he did so well. I can't thank you enough for you time and patience with us. People like you are very special. Have a wonderful weekend!

Glenda

{love her punctuation mistakes!}

Isn't that the best?! It's people like this that make it easier to love an serve others. I can love them as Christ does and see the end clearer with God's perspective. We need other people to get through this life. Don't take them for granted.

People are worth it. Life is worth it.

"no puedo vivir sin ti"

. . . without you girls. I can't live without you and I just want us to be together.

3 hours ago I felt nauseous and lightheaded. How unfortunate since I was so looking forward to new exciting adventures at work :( So I left work early and at this moment I am laying on my bed freshly woken up from a 2 hour nap. I am now eating wheat saltine crackers and drinking some water.

So now I have all this time on my hands today. Here are a few things I have been doing:

1. Nap. Check.

2. Celebrity watching {something I barely EVER do}.
I loved the rainy premiere! The big shocker for me was picture #11, my first reaction, "who is that stud?"{take a gander at #11 yourself and guess!}. Also I loved the "Accio Dan" sign found in the crowd of the last photo!

3. Blog stalking. Self-explanatory.

4. Looking at delicious food. Drooling immensely.
A few examples: homemade jams, rooster noodle bar in provo as seen through the eyes of Jonathan Canlas, delicious sorbet--the epitome of summer, etc.

5. Dreaming. hmmmm . . .

6. Looking forward to seeing my lovelies later today and waiting in eager anticipation for tonight's show!! {I am not the biggest fan of this season. I don't think anything can top season 2--benji, donyelle, heidi, and travis? yes please! but it is still my favorite show!}

7. Blogging. 4th of july pics to come . . . with a few other surprises as well ;)

This girl

. . . is my older sister Bethany. She turns 25 today! She is pretty rad, super rad actually! She's the best sister anyone could ask for {besides my other 2 sisters of course!} You may know her because she has this amazing {self-taught} talent of which I am sometimes jealous of, as shown here {or here}. She is one of the most down-to-earth, loving, spiritual, sweetest, artistic, best-dressed persons I know. I can honestly say that I've always looked up to her example and dedication to the gospel. I remember being just an elementary schooler and seeing my super cool older sister who was in high school and never thinking I could be as great as she was {or is}.

For the past 3 years she has been living in provo with her super rad husband Casey, working full-time with her photography business on the side while Casey finished up school. It has been such a blessing having her here while I have been at school; they've always been there for me to show me the ropes, give advice, feed me, let me watch sytycd with, help me with car troubles, and so much more--all of which I am eternally grateful for! This week they embarked on a new adventure, packed up, moved out, and headed to Texas. I will miss them terribly, but I find comfort in the fact that they are just a phone call away ;) Other great adventures lie in their paths because in about 2 months they will become first time parents to a sweet baby boy {who I am sure will also be super rad!} I am so happy for them as I know they will be fantastic parents!

Bethany, thanks for always being there for me as a sister, as a friend, as an example to follow. I hope you are having a Happy Birthday! Live it up!

one year

a lot can happen in a year.

that's how long it's been since the birth of my blog. it used to be a secret; a place where i wanted to pour out my soul, but never quite knew how. i am still learning and i don't think i can ever quite be at that point {or really want to}, but as i look back on this past year i see how much i've grown. not necessarily just with my blog, but in life, with friends, as a person: a daughter of god. i've become someone i am proud of and that is comforting. i am thankful for the people who have helped me along the way and whom have grown with me on this journey. i am thankful that we will continue this journey forever.

it could be the weather: cloudy & stormy {Oooo, my favorite!}
but today i am contemplative. reserved. reflective.
sometimes that is my favorite mood to be in.
i can sit in the silence of my thoughts and just . . . be, feel, dream.

i wonder what the coming years will bring . . .
