I'm still alive!

Hey it's been a while! For the last 30 minutes I've been scribbling in my journal and jotting down all the wonders of life, all the workings of my heart. I began writing some of it here to share, but . . . somehow I feel like that would spoil it. Instead I'll give you a little taste of today.

Things I felt today:

tender mercies. Lively!
Empowered. Purposeful.
ALIVE. present. grateful.
Certain.

Things I did today:
*Got my practicum placements. 4th grade, baby!
*Went to class :)
*Went to the BYU Devo and got my spiritual socks rocked off! (You'll probs be able to find and listen to it here in a couple of days. Elder Kikuchi is the man!)
*Turned in my Internship Application. Scary.
*Made a HUGE decision about the future. Gah!
*Bought a new journal. Mmmm.
*Went to work with some cool peeps.
*Had "just a salad" for dinner (haha! Seinfeld anyone?)

New favorite scripture that I read today:
Jacob 3:2 "O all ye that are pure in heart, lift up your heads and receive the pleasing word of God, and fest upon his love; for ye may, if your minds are firm, forever."

Things I am procrastinating on and will begin as soon as I click "Publish Post:"

here we are

{I forgot where i found this picture. sorry. anyone know?}

but first

here i am . . .
sitting eating dark chocolate covered almonds
purchased direct from the bookstore
and listening to some blues.

what an array of emotions and feelings
experienced practically everyday!

i want to tell you about one in particular because it so gosh darn great!
but i will have to keep that one close to my heart.

but i am grateful.

sister is back in p-town, with ME!
i have great friends who are so good at being there for me.
and i'm starting to see things unfold
it's what keeps me going

that and the fact that i am never truly alone
because my savior is always there for me.

wishing you love and joy,
Kenj

just for today

i am a sucker for good quotes. these ones are so powerful!

"both abundance and lack exist simultaneously in our lives, as parallel realities. it is always our conscious choice which secret garden we will tend . . . when we choose not to focus on what is missing from our lives but are grateful for the abundance that's present--love, health, family, friends, work, the joys of nature & personal pursuits that bring us pleasure--the waste and of illusion falls away & we experience heaven on earth." ~ sarah ban breathnach

"our heavenly father seeks those who refuse to allow the trivial to hinder them in their pursuit of the eternal: he seeks those who will not allow the attraction of ease of the traps of the adversary to distract them from the work he has given them to perform. he seeks those whose actions conform to their words--those who say with conviction, "i am doing a great work and cannot come down." ~ elder dieter uchtdorf, april 2009 conference

there are a hundred 'raisons d'être'

reasons to be:

*magic coconut squares
*my gmail template that changes with the weather
*meeting new people
*letting people know they are appreciated
*being appreciated in return
*new books
*learning to just be willing
*D&C 64:32-34
* a test of faith
*adventures of a different kind . . .

Quote of the day: "The important thing is this: To be able at any moment to sacrifice what we are for what we could become. "
~Charlie Dubois.

"Feed your faith and your doubts will starve to death"
Wednesday: Be willing to face hard things; go forward with faith.
~President Wilkey

*de l'espoir*

I have been super busy lately and I only wish I had time to write something long and lovely. It is friday, which is fantastic! It has been very warm lately, which I love and it makes me ache for spring! Unfortunately it is snowing right now. I don't usually like snow, but I am glad that for the moment it is just flurries. It seems so magical and happy somehow.

Things that I am looking forward to:

*going home and being with the fam.
{smash burger, sewing with mom, movie nights, perfect happiness}.

*spring/summer in the 'clave

*reading for pleasure

*the future and what it may bring

Also I am currently content with the fact that there are things in my life that I must be doing. Things that I never planned on.

John 15:16

AKFNENFOINIOSDVNOIDNVOIVI!!!!!!!

I don't have time to think of a clever title. I don't have time to think of anything!

I have way too many thoughts rushing through my mind, STILL! In an effort to sort all the thousands of thoughts I am blogging.

*Last night I could not sleep. {I tried to but my thoughts kept rushing to a million places and I was NOT tired. at all.}
*This morning I could not eat. {I had to force feed myself}
*Today I can not study and I don't want to go to class. {How can I when there are so many more important things to be doing?!}

It's crazy how your life can change and completely turn around in just one day. I am still a little numb, but totally and completely EXCITED!!! {Can I emphasize that enough?!} Just ten minutes ago I was running and jumping around my apartment in pure wonder and hysteria. Thankfully no one was there because it was quite an embarrassing spectacle. Every time I think about it I get this overwhelmingly nervous but delighted feeling in my chest and I have to scream or do something before I burst!!!

So this is what Heavenly Father has been preparing me for! I am so grateful for the confidence that he has in me. It all makes sense now and I can hardly contain my joy!

Also my family and friends are amazingly amazing and supportive of everything in my life and I just want to thank them and love them all the time!!!!!!! {yes I said amazingly amazing}

I just love you guys, like are you kidding me?!?! Yes I do.

These people are amazing. Like seriously.

Quelle cérémonie, quel noeud papillon?

"Moments of being in our own Gethsemane are only opportunities that we have to know what Christ had to go through." ~ Hermana Urban
