I'm back

Today was a happy day. I am learning to recognize the hand of the Lord in my life and appreciate the simple things that bring me joy. The church is true and the atonement is real.

There is a difference between patience and long-suffering (emphasis on the suffering). I have decided to be patient. I guess its something that I really need to learn because it keeps coming up in my life.

I love these thoughts on patience from Dieter F. Utchdorf, an apostle of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints:

"Nevertheless, without patience, we cannot please God; we cannot become perfect. Indeed, patience is a purifying process that refines understanding, deepens happiness, focuses action, and offers hope for peace . . . Patience is not simply enduring; it is enduring well!"

(He gave this at the Priesthood session of the 180th Annual General Conference. Read the full article "Continue in Patience" here.)

I am learning to endure well and to find joy in the journey! :)
